The Site
These pages are about civilization multiplayer gaming and all that relates to it.

That involves current civ4 mp strategy and game mechanics, news from the mp world or ideas revolving around online play, but also concepts for a civ game that supports a greater mp community both with an elaborate technical setup and mechanics that allow for complex human interaction comparable in the way Blizzard does with Starcraft/Warcraft 3 for real-time strategy.

The Founder
I´m a 26 year old student of law, media science and politics living in Cologne, Germany. I´ve been fascinated with strategy games – digital and analogue – all my life. Besides chess I haven´t found anything yet that fits my ideas of a perfect strategy game as much as civ does. I use these pages to post ideas towards a more complete multiplayer experience for civ which are based on what I´ve come to learn about the game while playing and training the game within my clan [PPP] and during countless clan and other civ multiplayer games.

I´m a 19 years old student of computer science living in Paderborn, Germany. I´have been playing computer- and boardgames all my life including all parts of the civilization series from Civ II on, though Civ IV is the first part I got deeply involved in. I played Warcraft III for two years and enjoyed the great multiplayer environment there very much, thus I hope to bring Civ MP a little closer to such a MP experience by working on this page.

Thanks for the tip, I know it though. Its complexity plays in a league with chess – as far as I can judge Go by just knowing basics and having read about it – just not my game for whatever reason 😉

Could use a bit of clarification here that everything appears to be based on the typical Gamespy multiplayer. Quick, Blazing, etc..

Pitboss and PBEM multiplayer games play significantly different, with time for planning, player-enforced rules on double moves, etc..

I don´t believe that to be true as long as the game is played on quick speed and on noble. Of course there are differences beyond that, but a Pitboss or PBEM is not different at all to an Ironman in the mp world, just that there is a timer. Sp game mechanics work the same hence theoretical concepts work for both.

You won´t find anything PBEM/Pitbos specific here (yet), but you will find a lot of stuff written for noble on quick speed which can always be applied, just sometimes less and sometimes more.

I always try to not just describe a one-time situation, but overall concepts – I have you can find something for yourself in there. Just as a random example, if you look at the last post here about buildings you´ll notice that what I wrote is true for any Pitboss game played on noble dificulty and quick speed.

In any case, I´m open to suggestions and requests 😉

    Congratulations for this useful site!

    Please, add this link

    as ‘Spanish Civ Community’

We have SP and MP competitions, in particular a pitboss based championship, called APT (Astrologix Pitboss Tournaments).

    Thanks 🙂
